- 1 cinnamon stick

- 1 tsp red chilli powder
- 1 tsp garam masala/biryani masala
- 1 cup blanched spinach purée

Instructions to make to make Hyderabadi Veg Biryani
- Wash and soak basmati rice for 30 minutes. Boil/ cook in salt water. Strain and keep aside. Boil carrot, potato and fresh green peas.

- In pan add, heat oil. Add green chillies ginger paste. Add chopped onion, sugar and salt,saute till softened and brownish in colour. Cool and grind to smooth paste. Keep aside.



- In thick bottom pan add heat ghee. Add cummin seeds,bay leaf, cinnamon stick as splutter add grinded onion paste. Saute for 1 minute. Add capsicum pieces and boiled vegetables. Saute for 2 minutes.


- Add cashewnuts halves,raisins. Mix & saute well. Add turmeric powder,red chilli powder, garam masala/ biryani masala, salt. Mix and saute for 1 minute.


- Add blanched spinach purée,mix well. Add boiled basmati rice. Mix gently and cook for 2-3 minutes.
